Take a trip with me to visit the beautiful city of Granada. Spend some real quality time taking in the city which is located at the foot of the Mombacho volcano.

As you wonder through the ancient streets take some time to appreciate the sheer magnificence at its many beautiful buildings which has faithfully preserved its Castilian traditions.

Granada is in fact, the oldest city in continental America. It is located on the shores of Lake Nicaragua one of the largest fresh water lakes in the world. It is also the home to the world's only fresh water sharks!!!

During your day in Granada you can take time to visit a variety of colonial churches and buildings and to enjoy the flair of a bustling town.

The pueblos blancos San Juan del Oriente and Santa Catarina offer great art and souvenir shopping and a stunning view of the Laguna de Apoyo.

Also of great interest are the Church of La Merced, the Church of Jalteva and the fortress-church of San Francisco must be on the top of anybody's "must see" list.
