Costa Ricans, also know as "Ticos" have a reputation around the world being extremly friendly and hospitable. They are well aware that their country is a special place, and they go out of their way to accommodate their visitors, pointing them in the right direction when they get lost, explaining things that might seem foreign to a foreigner, and helping make their stay as enjoyable as possible.

They also boast one highest literacy rates and the best health care systems in Latin America. The "ticos" are proud of their country's strong democracy and outstanding social security system and will warmheartedly share their beautiful country with whomever cares to join them in relaxing, kicking back, and living la pura vida.

Costa Rica is truely a land filled with friendly, kind and respectful people, who are hard-working and love their land and their roots. Many of my guests on previous tours have found the "Ticos" to be the friendliest people, very welcoming and hospitable.
