One of the wonders of the natural world takes place in Costa Rica in Playa Grande national park. The Playa Grande beach is one of the main nesting places for the leatherback turtle, the largest turtle in the world. The turtle nesting takes place between the months of September and January.

With the emphasis on respect, protection and conservation of this magnificent turtle, during the nesting season we will view the hundreds of thousands of turtles as they flood ashore from the sea to lay their eggs. As you spend time marvelling at this this natural spectacle from the best best possible vantage point on the beach, I will explain what you are seeing. I will also explain to you what the people of Costa Rica are doing to actively help preserve the beach and protect the turtles from mankind and our activities that have threatened the turtles over the past few hundred years.

This tour is in the Playa Grande national park in the Guanacaste Province of Costa Rica.

Pick up is in the evening (the best time to visit the beach) from your hotel. You will be returned back to the hotel after this tour.
